Pianists Wanted At The Linton Music Studio: No Experience Necessary

Return to Linton Music Teaching Studio Homepage

Our Philosophy: We help coach, instruct and teach our students, both young and old, how to enjoy obtaining the skill of being able to create beautiful melodies from playing the piano in a way that is most rewarding and effective for them.

WHAT SETS THE STUDIO LINTON MUSIC STUDIO APART FROM THE CROWD?

Would you like for your child to not only learn to read music, but also play by ear, know chords forward and backward, be able to arrange music in a whole bunch of different ways, create original sounds, understand theory and play a vast array of styles at the piano?

The key to reaching these goals lies in piano instruction that is built around a good, solid understanding of music from day one. When this happens, there is no limit to what your child can do musically. But if the foundation is weak and shaky there are limits to what can be achieved.

The truth is that lots of people can play the piano by reading the written music, but only a very few can improvise, add their own "fills" and chord substitutions and make up music as the play. Parents will be glad to know that this does not have to be the status quo. In fact, these are skills that can be taught, and if you want your child to be able to do these things, you should seek out a teacher who knows these skills and can teach them. This is what we specialize in at the Linton Music Studio.

WHAT UNIQUE THINGS DOES YOUR STUDIO HAVE IN PLACE THAT WILL BENEFIT MY CHILD'S MUSICAL EDUCATION?

The decision to engage in piano lessons for you or a child is an exciting one! But in the immortal words of Goldilocks-how to find the learning style that is not too warm or too cold but just right?

The success manifested by the Linton Music Studio in the form of kids who don't want to leave when their lesson is over and a low student drop out rate may be the “just right” that you are looking for. Ms. Linton, Owner and Primary Piano Instructor, knows better than most the quickest way to amp up interest in learning music is to create a wide of array of courses that over deliver in quality, pique the interest of all would be pianists with “something for every musical taste,” and… reinforce learning with fun musical theory games and brain stimulating software programs in a class environment. The result: Students are guided into the feelings of accomplishment and joy that come with learning how to play beautiful music on the piano.

Here’s something to consider…Ms. Linton, a signed artist for ACM Records composes and records original music. She also performs year around. Your child will have the opportunity to study with a teacher who has her music placed in television and film. In other words, Linton leads with a do as I do attitude and not just a do as I say philosophy.

Another important caveat of any teaching studio is the environment. The Linton Music Studio provides a superior venue with state of the art pianos, learning software and vast array of music games in a class setting. The attributes of learning to play the piano in a class setting are many. Three obvious benefits are students who actually can play the piano, students who want to come to their lessons and students who don’t quit.

Of course, the teacher and the environment must be solid and then we move onto learning materials or quite simply-great motivating music. Imagine hearing your child say, “This music is great. I want to play for my friends.” Bach taught his sons using the music of his time – popular dances, preludes and exercises by living composers. It would never have occurred to him to seek out pieces in styles and rhythms one hundred years old. He expected his boys to thrive in the musical world of their time. That is why we use American Popular Piano developed and written by Christopher Norton at the studio.

Students being educated in the series and guided by the fine teaching staff at the Linton Music Studio can expect to:

  • Develop traditional pianistic and musical skills through music in contemporary, popular styles; including gospel, funk, country western, classic, rhythm and blues, rock, traditional and contemporary jazz.
  • Be motivated to practice by working on music that is great sounding and fun to learn.
  • Nurture their creativity and spontaneity through a user-friendly modular approach to improvisation.
  • Enjoy regular ensemble playing.
  • Find pleasure in a lifelong relationship with music!
  • How many people took years of classical lessons and still cannot do what they really want to do- sit down and be able to play. Most of us, beginner or not long to play gorgeous Christmas carols during the holidays, hymns, popular songs, or our favorite jazz or blues tunes. We are not talking about learning to plunk out Mary Had A Little Lamb here; we are talking about developing the skills that can hold a room spellbound.

This is where is where the students of the Linton Music Studio have an opportunity to really shine. At the studio they are taught both improvisational and chord skills while also learning to read music. The studio has a vision to empower musicians of all abilities and levels with the tools they needed to succeed by carving out a teaching market that reflects all of our unique gifts and interests. We are here to help would be pianists everywhere in manifesting their musical destinies. See for yourself why adults and kids love to learn piano at our studio. Register your child or yourself today. We will be happy to contact you and discuss enrollment opportunities. Again, thank you for your interest in the Linton Music Studio.
